Oh em GEE! It FINALLY happened. Our engagement has become official as of August 23, 2010. A ring was placed on my finger on August 24, 2010… my birthday.

This has been a long busy year for the both of us. He works full-time as a VP for a successful hosting firm and I have been working overtime with my start-up, Twenty70 Hosting. We both work at least 10 hours a day (who knew working at home and for yourself would be harder than working on location for someone else?) and with other more important family matters going on throughout the year, the right time just hasn’t made itself available. We’d already decided that we would, eventually, marry but we still wanted to wait for that right moment to make it official and actually have time to plan for a wedding.

We are going to have a small ceremony for immediate family only on September 18, 2010 but sometime in February will have an actual wedding with all the bells and whistles. Why two ceremonies? Cuz we want to be married now darn it! LoL. In all seriousness though, we want to begin our journey to the end of eternity as soon as possible. We’ve been waiting unofficially for almost a year so having a ceremony in September might seem quick but it’s really not for us.

Now, I know everyone is dying to know the details but in all honestly, there really isn’t any juicy details. LoL. On the 23rd we were just sitting on the floor in his closet (yeah, I don’t know either, lol) and he (M) pretty much said it’s time to make it official, set a date, and begin our life together not in sin anymore.

How I got the ring: As I mentioned previously, I got the ring the next day on my birthday. While about to leave to Tampa to have dinner with my sisters, M must have saw his chance to present me with said ring. I used to always wear this blue sapphire ring because I really liked it. The only problem with that ring was that it was given to me by an ex as a Valentine’s Day present. I know some people are probably thinking “why would you wear a ring that an EX gave you when you’re seeing someone else???!!”. My answer: I’m a mature adult, it was given as to me as a GIFT, and that relationship was long over by years by the time I met M. I know some people, or guys, would say “Well, if you’re wearing a ring he gave you then you must think about him a lot”. My Answer: Are you really that insecure and paranoid? Sure, the ring reminds me of the ex when people ask me about the ring. I don’t look at the ring and daydream about the man for heaven’s sake.

Anyways, I’m going off point. He noticed I wasn’t wearing the ring and said something along the lines of replacing that ring with “this one” and shows me the ring.

Of course, my chin hit the floor when I saw this beauty. I was, for the first time ever in my life, rendered speechless.

The ring was a little big so today I finally got a chance to bring it to the jewelers to get it resized. I am actually currently awaiting it’s completion next door at Starbucks. Yes, I am blogging at Starbucks. Hooray for free wifi!

So, that is the deal with the engagement. It’s official and I’m happy.

P.S. He Went To Jared.

I know I’ve been promising to blog about this past weekend but honestly, so much has happened and so much still needs to be done. So, sorry for the delay!

I guess I will start my weekend on Thursday; you will need to know Thursday’s events to understand Saturday’s events.

Thursday night Migo’s friend from high school and college flew in from Detroit (he lives in Ohio). His plane was supposed to take off earlier in the evening and land at 8:00pm EST. Did that happen? Of course not. They pushed back take-off until 8:00pm which means the flight wouldn’t land until after 10:00pm. All I am thinking at this point is, *facepalm*. Migo & his friend had decided that when he landed we would all go to Blue Martini for Latin Night and the later his flight, the later we got home. That didn’t make me a happy camper but I put on a smilie face anyway.

8:00 comes around and they are just starting to board the plane when a passenger decides to pass-out, long story short – that delayed the plane’s take-off another hour. Take off was at 9:16 and the plane landed just before midnight EST.

After circling arrival pickup four times at Terminal B (where the plane was supposed to part) we couldn’t find said friend. Again, long story short… I suppose since the plane was hours behind, the Terminal was full and the plane had to taxi to Terminal A…. on the other side of the airport. So we drive all the way to the other side of the airport to Terminal A where we start circling the arriving flights passenger pickup area. He says he is there but we can’t find him! Come to find out, he didn’t leave through the baggage claim area which puts you in the pick up area. He left through the departing flight ticketing area, which is on the second floor where you DROP OFF passengers. *FACEPALM*

Friday – Friday, Migo and I found out a mutual friend of ours was hospitalized for a flair up of Crohn’s Disease. Definitely not cool, the poor thing was in so much pain. Later that night, we saw “Inception”. GREAT MOVIE.

Saturday – Saturday we learned a family member has a large mass within one of her lungs so we basically spent the weekend with family and Migo’s nieces and nephew. Said family member is kind of scared but we’re all hoping and praying for the best. A biopsy will be done later this week.

Saturday was also the night of the pointless fight between Migo and I that I tweeted about. It really was pointless but we were both so adamant to get our points across it became funny. Basically the point of the argument was him getting upset with me for something that happened that he ALREADY KNOWS I would be upset over. I got upset over something that happened while out and about with his friend who came to visit and the friends he brought out and about with us. My reaction to what happened shouldn’t have been a surprise to him, I really am an open book. This may sound confusing because I haven’t shared the entire story, but it really is long and boring and this post is already long enough!

Sunday – Work, Shopping at Express, swimming at Aquatica with Migo’s family, then home.

Monday – Drive to airport, grab starbucks. Work. Work. Work. Work. Visit friend in hospital. Went bowling, I won. Worked some more when I got home.

And that my friends, is my highly boring weekend in review.

xoxo!

Tiger Woods

In a testament to show how much the world has become addicted to knowing the private lives of others, the Tiger Woods “transgression” has been a hot bed of speculation, gossip, and privacy infringement. According to many local citizens of Central Florida reports and news media have actually flocked to known hang out places of Mr. Woods to talk to folks who may or may not of seen anything, to get an idea of what Mr. Woods was like out of the spotlight and if they’ve witnessed any of these infidelities or flirtations.

Can the media get any more pathetic? This all started with a story running in some super market tabloid reporting that Mr. Woods engaged in extra marital affairs with some VIP Club Hostess and then a few days later poor Tiger crashed his car in the weeee hours of the morning. And then from there, speculation swirled, privacy was invaded, all these women are coming out saying they too have had intimate relations with Mr. Woods.

Let me break for a second to send a message to those women -
First of all, your 15 minutes of ‘fame’ are for all the wrong reasons. Not only are you happy to “Kiss and Tell” (when you think it will benefit you), you are telling the world and other possible mates, famous or not, that you do not respect the privacy of the other party. You’re showing the world that you’re quite happy with sleeping with a married man (or just showing your shallowness by only sleeping with a RICH married man thinking you’ll get something from it) .
Second, it does take two to tango. You were just as wrong and just as at fault as Mr. Woods for the consent to any intimate or extra flirtatious relations.

Ok, what was I saying? Oh yes, the media on a rampage. Ever since the accident it’s been non-stop gossip and prying into the life and history of Mr. Woods and he said she said. Last time I checked Tiger Woods was human, he was a man, and he is not perfect. Am I saying this was right or something for his wife to brush off? Definitely not, my husband cheats on me and he’s gone. However, this matter is for the Woods family to deal with PRIVATELY. It is none of our business and it is not helping that we find it necessary or tasteful to print, write, talk, about any of this. Gee, Keleigh, why are you writing about it then? Why? Because I’m not fueling the rumors or the fire, I am simply telling you people to shut up and let the Woods family deal with this in privacy.

Mr. Woods has already lost a lot of respect from a lot of people and I can’t say that he wasn’t asking for it but he already has to face his wife, his children, mother, and his close friends and provide them with answers. Those are the people that he needs to be answering to, not us.

Black Screen of Death

On November 27, 2009 a dingleberry of a security “professional” from a computer security company that will go unnamed because they suck published a report that a Windows 7 security update was causing computers to crash and display the “Black Screen of Death” rendering them “useless” but of course, NO ONE CONTACTED MICROSOFT!

According to Ed Bott, who covered this story thoroughly, the original blog post went unnoticed until November 30, 2009 when it was picked up by the IDG News Service and from there it just spiraled out of control with a plethora of blogs and articles written and published on this supposed Microsoft F-up with no one actually doing any fact checking.

Now, I am by far not a journalist or professional writer, but it seems to me that when publishing something such as a security related article you would want to have the facts. Of course we can have our opinions about things and interpret things differently but this was not that article. With the blame placed directly on Microsoft, and quite blatantly too, the only interpretation of this article was that Microsoft caused this, they are fault for the millions of users who may encounter this “Black Screen of Death”.
And then we have the kicker. After all is said and done, this BSoD is of no error of Windows 7 and the company retracted that information and said…

“Having narrowed down a specific trigger for this condition we’ve done quite a bit of testing and retesting on the recent Windows patches including KB976098 and KB915597 as referred to in our previous blog. Since more specifically narrowing down the cause we have been able to exonerate these patches from being a contributory factor.

“We apologise to Microsoft for any inconvenience our blog may have caused. This has been a challenging issue to identify. Users who have the black screen issue referred to can still safely use our free fix tool to restore their desktop icons and task bar.”

Not only was that a lame attempt at an apology, I mean, come on, inconvenience? A challenging issue to identify? It wasn’t too challenging for you to quickly blame Microsoft. And what’s with the plug? Use our “free tool to restore…” Why would I want to use a tool from a company who cannot properly diagnose a problem and where it comes from? No thanks!

Welcome to the opinion part of my blog.

I was reading through various news articles across the web and I come across this one. “Woman in Intensive Care after ‘Restoring Virginity’ for 6th time”. Uhhh…really? Are you kidding me? Nope… read on!

From FoxNews.com:

The woman, identified only as Natalia K., had her first hymenoplasty operation six years ago before getting married, the Russian Web site Life.ru reports.

Hymenoplasty, also known as hymenorrhaphy or hymen reconstruction surgery, is a type of plastic surgery that involves the restoration of the hymen. The aim of this surgery is to ensure bleeding during sexual intercourse, giving the appearance that the woman is a virgin.

Natalie K. had the surgery before her wedding because her husband was upset that she had already lost her virginity to another man. However, he apparently liked the results of the surgery so much, he asked his wife to have the surgery each year following their wedding.

Doctors warned Natalie K. that having the surgery for the sixth time posed risks, however she chose to go through with it. She caught a “minor infection” after the surgery and is now in intensive care.

Ok. Seriously, WHO would do that…even once? I really don’t see how this reverses virginity, nothing can. Sure, virginity is breaking your hymen for the first time but it also means you’re “pure” and “untouched” and experiencing things for the first time. Nothing can take that back after you’ve gotten it on for the first time. A wee-wee was still in you before! You know what it feels like! Nothing is new! It’s odd that people could consider this surgery re-virginizing because A) you’ve already had sex so you’re body has already been exploited but B) now you’re putting yourself in a position where your body is further is exploited by having doctors and foreign objects being inserted and poking and prodding and whatever else they do up in there. That’s like, opposite! Why allow MORE people to mess with the sacred nether regions if you want your virginity back? Why not abstain from sex for a lengthy period of time? I can guarantee that you’ll feel more like a virgin during sex after abstaining for a lengthy period of time (not that I would know. ) than you will after this surgery. But of course, good luck getting your man to agree to that, lol. But I digress…

As for this story, this guy, in my opinion, is sick for wanting his wife to do this. If he wanted blood during sex, have sex during her period. She will never be a true virgin again regardless of how many times she has this surgery. She’s already been “had” …just as I’m sure he wasn’t a virgin but of course there is no way to correct that.

If my boyfriend told me to have this done.. I’d say Ef U. Haha. My first time was special albeit not with him. Just because it wasn’t with him doesn’t mean it can’t be a special memory tucked away. Also, most women don’t have sex with everyone and their brother so each time previously most likely was with a special person and just because the relationship never lasted, it doesn’t make it any less special. People grow up, people grow apart. Previously relationships should never be looked down upon because you’ve experienced things you found out you like and don’t like. However, I do concede that there are those relationships that you were totally like “what was I thinking?” but those are hopefully far and few in between and another blog post. LoL.

So, in a nutshell -

This surgery shouldn’t even be allowed, it does nothing but potentially hurt patients because going under is always a risk.

Your body is exploited even moreso than just having sex.

This husband needs a mental evaluation.

The wife needs a mental evaluation due to potential emotional abuse by said husband and his obsession with “virginity”. Pleasing her husband almost killed her! Nothing is worth that. (Unless maybe he needed a kidney or half of a liver or a lung, but that’s not the case is it?)

Virginity is more than just breaking the hymen. It’s experiencing feelings and sensations for the first time…evar.

Want to experience blood during sex? Do it doing her period you’ll have an almost endless supply. Problem solved.

Want to feel like a virgin? Abstain for like a year…or two… second problem solved.

Yes, I guess this blog post is kind of egh…but then, I’ll discuss anything. There is no such thing as TMI in my book! lol

Until next time – ciao.
