Say hello to my first post in over a year! I haven’t posted since 2010!!!! I know, I am such a horrible blogger but I really don’t have much to say. I love reading blogs, heck, my whole business is related to blogging but I just can’t do it. Please ignore this horrible mess of a site, I am completely redoing it. Right now it looks like blaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.
This Matter of Marriage–3 months
Has it really been three months since I got married? Yes it has! Time has seriously flown by between the birthdays, Thanksgiving, my best friends wedding, Christmas and now it’s already the New Year.
I admit, I’ve been so busy these last few months I’ve really only had time for must-do’s. Unfortunately, posting on my blog wasn’t one of them. I know, total fail.
My business is continuing to grow steadily, which always makes me happy.
Hopefully during 2011 it grows even more. It always makes me happy when I see people start a blog from nothing (like mine currently is) and become a well read voice in the blogosphere that people can’t stop talking about.
Anywho – here are a couple of recent pictures of yours truly!
The Engagement Deal
Oh em GEE! It FINALLY happened. Our engagement has become official as of August 23, 2010. A ring was placed on my finger on August 24, 2010… my birthday.
This has been a long busy year for the both of us. He works full-time as a VP for a successful hosting firm and I have been working overtime with my start-up, Twenty70 Hosting. We both work at least 10 hours a day (who knew working at home and for yourself would be harder than working on location for someone else?) and with other more important family matters going on throughout the year, the right time just hasn’t made itself available. We’d already decided that we would, eventually, marry but we still wanted to wait for that right moment to make it official and actually have time to plan for a wedding.
We are going to have a small ceremony for immediate family only on September 18, 2010 but sometime in February will have an actual wedding with all the bells and whistles. Why two ceremonies? Cuz we want to be married now darn it! LoL. In all seriousness though, we want to begin our journey to the end of eternity as soon as possible. We’ve been waiting unofficially for almost a year so having a ceremony in September might seem quick but it’s really not for us.
Now, I know everyone is dying to know the details but in all honestly, there really isn’t any juicy details. LoL. On the 23rd we were just sitting on the floor in his closet (yeah, I don’t know either, lol) and he (M) pretty much said it’s time to make it official, set a date, and begin our life together not in sin anymore.
How I got the ring: As I mentioned previously, I got the ring the next day on my birthday. While about to leave to Tampa to have dinner with my sisters, M must have saw his chance to present me with said ring. I used to always wear this blue sapphire ring because I really liked it. The only problem with that ring was that it was given to me by an ex as a Valentine’s Day present. I know some people are probably thinking “why would you wear a ring that an EX gave you when you’re seeing someone else???!!”. My answer: I’m a mature adult, it was given as to me as a GIFT, and that relationship was long over by years by the time I met M. I know some people, or guys, would say “Well, if you’re wearing a ring he gave you then you must think about him a lot”. My Answer: Are you really that insecure and paranoid? Sure, the ring reminds me of the ex when people ask me about the ring. I don’t look at the ring and daydream about the man for heaven’s sake.
Anyways, I’m going off point. He noticed I wasn’t wearing the ring and said something along the lines of replacing that ring with “this one” and shows me the ring.
Of course, my chin hit the floor when I saw this beauty. I was, for the first time ever in my life, rendered speechless.
The ring was a little big so today I finally got a chance to bring it to the jewelers to get it resized. I am actually currently awaiting it’s completion next door at Starbucks.
Yes, I am blogging at Starbucks. Hooray for free wifi!
So, that is the deal with the engagement. It’s official and I’m happy.
P.S. He Went To Jared.
Am I gonna die?
So, remember the other day when I tweeted about having the worst headache ever? Also, possibly the second migraine I’ve ever had in my life. Well, I woke up with redness in the form of a triangle with the point at the end of my left out and going out to cover my left temple. It doesn’t really itch, but it does slightly burn a bit. It’s also slightly raised and a teeny bit bumpy. Definitely not the normal texture of my skin.
So, if there are any dermatologists, nurses, RN’s, bug experts, etc out there reading this: Am I going to die? We’re going on the completion of Day 2 of said redness.
This image is making the corner of my eye look purple, it’s not.
So ummm, yeah. What’s wrong with me!?

Say My Name, Stitch!
Note: Obviously, that’s not the correct line from American Pie, I do not use profanity but you get the idea!
The reason for this post today (and post title) is a partial venting session and a partial teaching session.
When corresponding with ANYONE, whether it be on the phone, via e-mail, via text message, via instant messenger, via face to face; USE THEIR NAME!
Lately I’ve been corresponding with a company for work that needs to be done with Twenty70 Hosting and we’ve been corresponding for over a month now and I have yet to see them actually WRITE my name in an e-mail. I realize it is probably going through a ticketing system because the responses are ALWAYS generic, which is another thing I hate when communicating with clients/potential clients but that’s another post.
It peeves me greatly when the e-mail starts with:
Hi,
Below are the….
I mean, really? I have a name, use it. Try to be a little bit more personable and life-like, you know? Try to act like you WANT my continued business.
Now, I know (much to my dismay) that I have not yet perfected the art of communication. I have my Facepalms still but duuuddeee, is it soooo hard to address me by name?
For instance, sending an e-mail to a blogger, it’s frowned upon to start the e-mail with:
Dear Blogger,
Dear Technology Blogger,
Dear Mommy Blogger,
I would say that using the terms above is only good for when you’re speaking via a public ad or post and addressing your readers (who may be one of the above). But, if you are going to send them a PERSONAL e-mail then PERSONALIZE it. Unless, of course, you’re SPAM.
Just my two cents worth on that…
HAPPY FRIDAY!

Keleigh
Weekend in Review: July 16-18, 2010
I know I’ve been promising to blog about this past weekend but honestly, so much has happened and so much still needs to be done. So, sorry for the delay!
I guess I will start my weekend on Thursday; you will need to know Thursday’s events to understand Saturday’s events.
Thursday night Migo’s friend from high school and college flew in from Detroit (he lives in Ohio). His plane was supposed to take off earlier in the evening and land at 8:00pm EST. Did that happen? Of course not. They pushed back take-off until 8:00pm which means the flight wouldn’t land until after 10:00pm. All I am thinking at this point is, *facepalm*. Migo & his friend had decided that when he landed we would all go to Blue Martini for Latin Night and the later his flight, the later we got home. That didn’t make me a happy camper but I put on a smilie face anyway.
8:00 comes around and they are just starting to board the plane when a passenger decides to pass-out, long story short – that delayed the plane’s take-off another hour. Take off was at 9:16 and the plane landed just before midnight EST.
After circling arrival pickup four times at Terminal B (where the plane was supposed to part) we couldn’t find said friend. Again, long story short… I suppose since the plane was hours behind, the Terminal was full and the plane had to taxi to Terminal A…. on the other side of the airport. So we drive all the way to the other side of the airport to Terminal A where we start circling the arriving flights passenger pickup area. He says he is there but we can’t find him! Come to find out, he didn’t leave through the baggage claim area which puts you in the pick up area. He left through the departing flight ticketing area, which is on the second floor where you DROP OFF passengers. *FACEPALM*
Friday – Friday, Migo and I found out a mutual friend of ours was hospitalized for a flair up of Crohn’s Disease.
Definitely not cool, the poor thing was in so much pain. Later that night, we saw “Inception”. GREAT MOVIE.
Saturday – Saturday we learned a family member has a large mass within one of her lungs so we basically spent the weekend with family and Migo’s nieces and nephew. Said family member is kind of scared but we’re all hoping and praying for the best. A biopsy will be done later this week.
Saturday was also the night of the pointless fight between Migo and I that I tweeted about. It really was pointless but we were both so adamant to get our points across it became funny. Basically the point of the argument was him getting upset with me for something that happened that he ALREADY KNOWS I would be upset over. I got upset over something that happened while out and about with his friend who came to visit and the friends he brought out and about with us. My reaction to what happened shouldn’t have been a surprise to him, I really am an open book. This may sound confusing because I haven’t shared the entire story, but it really is long and boring and this post is already long enough!
Sunday – Work, Shopping at Express, swimming at Aquatica with Migo’s family, then home.
Monday – Drive to airport, grab starbucks. Work. Work. Work. Work. Visit friend in hospital. Went bowling, I won.
Worked some more when I got home.
And that my friends, is my highly boring weekend in review.
xoxo!
The “Upitty” people that go to Starbucks.
Everyone who knows me knows that I got to Starbucks a lot, definitely more than I should. The obvious reason is the price of their beverages, but you know what? I thoroughly enjoy my Cafe Vanilla Frappuccino and haven’t been able to find anything that even remotely compares to that heavily caloried goodness. Whole Milk and Whip Please!
Anyways, on to the point of this post. I have a really big peeve and that’s the comments that a lot of people like to make about the people that always go to Starbucks and won’t go to McDonald’s for a coffee-like beverages even though it’s a helluva lot cheaper.
These people like to assume that everyone who goes to Starbucks either A) has a lot money B) is “above” the cheaper coffee and the people that get that C) are stuck up because they “have money”
Now, I am definitely not saying that everyone thinks this but I do hear comments like above a lot because a ton of people see me with Starbucks, see my tweets about Starbucks, and of course when I talk and the subject comes up, I talk about Starbucks. Above are frequent comments I’ve heard in response.
Another thing I am told a lot is that I “should get a vanilla frappe from McDonald’s” for like, a dollar. That’s fabulous but you know what? I don’t like them. Sure, I’d save money but I don’t like them. I prefer Starbucks. Does that make me “rich, stuckup, and too good for everyone else”, most definitely not. I also prefer 7-11‘s French Vanilla Cappuccino’s over Starbucks’, does that make me cheap? No.
Stop hatin against Starbucks and the people that prefer it! It’s not cool!

Keys to a Secure Website – Passwords
Today’s Topic: Passwords
Throughout this week I will be posting some tips on how to keep your website (and other accounts) as secure as possible from malicious activity or unwanted intruders.
The first topic I am going to discuss is by far the easiest and most commonly use way of account exploitation: Easy Passwords.
With password cracker software out there and hackers getting smarter, it’s cheesecake for them to get owner access to your account that should be protected.
Examples of weak, vulnerable passwords:
- kelly824 (my name and day of birth) seriously, that’s easy information and anyone can figure that out.
- letmein
- opensesame
- p@ssword123
- fluffy
And the list can go on and on. You never really want to use a password (especially when it comes to your bank account) that can be found in the dictionary or a name, or any numbers that are identifiable such as birthdays, anniversaries, etc. It’s just too easy for people to crack and most sites that get hacked are done so because the admin password has been compromised.
Examples of strong passwords:
- b@b8!llA
- MSte790eq (if only numbers and letters are allowed, no special characters.)
- h!t0Pt@b1e
Password Recommendations:
- Use UPPERCASE and lowercase letters
- Use Numbers
- If allowed, use special characters such as !@#$&
- Do NOT use any easily identifiable names or numbers
- Ideally, you want your password to be as long as possible, but please try not to use a password less than 8 characters.
Have trouble remembering passwords, try KeePass Password Safe. Keeps your passwords on your computer, but encrypted and ready for you to copy and paste.
Remember, it’s the littlest things that can go so far, the same goes with website security.
[Security Warning] Use FireFox? Update to 3.6.2 Now.
Mozilla has pushed out an update for a major security whole within the browser, announced March 22, 2010. Researcher Evgeny Legerov of Intevydis reported the issue:
…The WOFF decoder contains an integer overflow in a font decompression routine. This flaw could result in too small a memory buffer being allocated to store a downloadable font. An attacker could use this vulnerability to crash a victim’s browser and execute arbitrary code on his/her system…
If you haven’t upgraded your version yet, you can do so by going to Help > Check for Updates OR Help > Apply Downloaded Update Now.
